Kerbed Memorial Cover Slabs
Cover slabs are solid slabs of matching or contrasting stone which fit inside the space created by kerbs and are an alternative to soil or chippings.
Kerbed memorials include a line of stone which forms a rectangular edge covering the whole grave. This space this creates can be topped with a solid slab of matching or contrasting stone. You can also use cover slabs on smaller Garden Kerbs, these are small kerbs which can be added to most of our headstones and can often be installed in locations where full kerb memorials are not permitted. Call us with details of your grave site and we will be able to check whether they are allowed.

What is a kerb set?
Kerbs are a line of stone which forms a rectangular edge covering the whole grave. This is usually made from the same stone as the headstone but can be changed for a contrasting material if preferred. The centre area can be filled with coloured glass chippings, soil or a cover slab according to your taste.
Can I add kerbs in front of a small/children's memorial?
Yes, we can put a small graveside surround called ‘Garden Kerbs’ around any headstone, providing the cemetery gives permission. We will be able to advise you on this and apply for a permit on your behalf.
Can you leave the centre of kerbing empty for us to fill it?
Yes, if you wanted to fill the kerbs with soil and plants or buy your own chippings, we can leave this area empty.

I wanted to thank Memorials of Distinction for providing a very efficient, professional and friendly service which was also extremely quick. My Mother & Father’s memorial was booked and then the lockdown occurred and even through this the Headstone was still erected the company strived to get any outstanding orders finalised before everything shut – your crew also kindly took photographs of the memorial so we could see it or though could not visit at that time and this little extra touch made a huge difference. The memorial is just as ordered and a fitting tribute to my parents.
